Join RISE for a follow-up presentation with Harvard University Graduate School of Design. See what the students and faculty from its Department of Landscape Architecture came up with after the design charette with Rockaway residents on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, about our neighborhoods along Jamaica Bay, from Beach 80th Street to the Nassau County line.
There are miles of neglected waterfront sites in the Rockaways, which are inaccessible to the public and could benefit us as recreational space and protection against flooding. Our community-led plan for expanded public waterfront is worth celebrating!
Food and refreshments will be served. Registration is recommended.

It will be RISE's twentieth anniversary in 2025, and we want to thank you for being a part of the movement: Rockaway Initiative for Sustainability and Equity. Take a look at these beautiful faces. They are the reason we have our heels dug in to the ground, to make sure that the ocean, the sand, the sky, the wildlife, and even the not-so-wildlife are accessible to them as a playground and a learning field. Please donate to keep our mission going and thriving.
