Bayside Plan Presentation & Celebration

Join RISE for a follow-up presentation with Harvard University Graduate School of Design. See what the students and faculty from its Department of Landscape Architecture came up with after the design charette with Rockaway residents on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, about our neighborhoods along Jamaica Bay, from Beach 80th Street to the Nassau County line.

There are miles of neglected waterfront sites in the Rockaways, which are inaccessible to the public and could benefit us as recreational space and protection against flooding. Our community-led plan for expanded public waterfront is worth celebrating!

Food and refreshments will be served. Registration is recommended.

Ann Fosteris teaches a FREE weekly exercise class. She embraces making a positive impact and living a wholesome lifestyle, which includes staying active and maintaining a healthy weight. There is no need to register. Just show up and join neighbors of all ages and fitness levels. You will feel good and look great in no time.

Core on the Floor

Core on the Floor is a FREE thirty-minute class that focuses on core and lower body and is led by Ann Fosteris of Fitness to You. Participants should bring their own mats. All levels are welcome!

$2.00 per ounce of Rockaway Honeyworks. Eight-ounce bottles are available for sale at $20.00 each.

Made by the bees of the Rockaway peninsula. Our honey is made as part of RISE's youth development programs for high-school students, to teach them about beekeeping, honey, and the benefits to our environment.

Join RISE for a delightful and educational adventure as we collaborate with NYC Plover Project to bring you a winter bird walk. Get ready to embrace the crisp, invigorating air and embark on a thrilling bird-watching expedition, which promises to be a unique and memorable experience for all nature enthusiasts.

Please dress appropriately for the weather. Registration is required. In case of inclement weather, a rain date is scheduled for Saturday, December 14.
