A community-wide initiative to grow the capacity of arts and culture on the eastern end of the Rockaway peninsula
Local residents and stakeholders joined town hall meetings, participated in focus groups, and took our survey to help identify cultural assets and ways to grow the capacity of art and culture in the Rockaways.
Community input has been critical to ensure that arts and culture play a role in supporting a vibrant, equitable, and diverse Far Rockaway, especially in the face of recent city initiatives including NYC Economic Development Corporation's Downtown Far Rockaway Neighborhood Development and Resilient Edgemere Community Plan, conducted by NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development.
